Ha Long Bay Cruise FAQs

Ha Long Bay can be visited year-round, but the most popular months are October through April when the weather is generally cooler and drier. March to May and September to November offer pleasant temperatures with fewer crowds. Summer months (June–August) are warmer and can see occasional rain showers, but the bay is still beautiful and cruise operators adjust itineraries as needed.
Lan Ha Bay is a geological extension of Ha Long Bay, located to the south near Cat Ba Island. It features the same stunning limestone karsts and emerald waters but is less visited, offering a more peaceful and uncrowded experience. Many of our cruises sail through both bays so you can enjoy the best of each.
A 2D1N cruise is ideal if your schedule is tight—you'll still experience the highlights including kayaking, cave visits, sunset drinks and an overnight on the bay. A 3D2N cruise lets you explore further into Lan Ha Bay, visit additional sites like floating villages or Cat Ba Island, and enjoy a more relaxed pace. If your schedule allows, the longer trip is well worth it.
All cruises depart from Tuan Chau International Marina in Ha Long City, approximately 2.5–3 hours by car from Hanoi. We can arrange private or shared transfers from Hanoi to the marina and back. Most cruises check in around 11:30–12:00 and return to the marina by 10:00–11:00 on the final day.
Cruise prices typically include your air-conditioned en-suite cabin, all meals as listed in the itinerary (lunch, dinner, breakfast), a welcome drink, guided excursions, entrance and sightseeing fees, kayak use, onboard insurance, tax and service charge. Excluded are transportation to and from Ha Long Bay, beverages, spa treatments and personal expenses.
Activities vary by cruise but commonly include kayaking through limestone grottoes, exploring caves such as Sung Sot or Luon Cave, visiting floating villages by rowing boat, sunrise Tai Chi on the sundeck, Vietnamese cooking classes, squid fishing at night and swimming at secluded beaches. Some cruises also offer spa services, Jacuzzi, cycling excursions and karaoke.
Yes. Port authorities require advance registration with your full name, gender, date of birth, nationality and passport number. You must present a valid passport at check-in. Authorities may deny boarding if these conditions are not met, so please have your passport details ready when booking.
Yes. Inclement weather, tide levels and operating conditions at sea may require changes to the itinerary and schedule at any time. Kayaking and swimming excursions in particular may be cancelled or relocated due to rough weather. The Cruise Manager will inform all passengers of any changes. Safety is always the top priority.
